Scarlett Johansson was born on the 22nd of November, 1984 in New York City New York. She is an American actor and singer whose talents have gained her recognition across a range of types of films ranging from thrillers and adventures to period films. Johansson lived living in New York City as the daughter an architect and an executive from a production firm. She and her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. In her early years she was able to begin performing. Actually, at the age of 7 she was already auditioning for several commercials. She joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly following and then went to the Professional Children's School, Manhattan to continue her training. She made her debut as a film actress in North (1994) when she was nine. When she was eight years old, she starred alongside Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson subsequently starred on the screen in Just Cause (1995), but her first break came through Manny & Lo a coming of age movie about two sisters running away. For The Horse Whisperer, Johansson played a teenage victim of an incredibly tragic accident. The role she played in Ghost World brought her more notoriety as the infamous teenager Rebecca. Much like many other new actresses, she chose to develop her skills in theater. When she performed her stage debut with Wildflower she also worked with various theatre projects in the USA. She graduated from the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
